  • Title: Optical hybrid quantum information processing
  • Abstract: Continuous-variable and discrete-variable quantum information are developing in parallel and have their own advantages and disadvantages. To overcome their own limitations, a feasible method is to develop hybrid continuous- and discrete-variable quantum information processing. We combine the continuous-variable quantum resource and photon subtraction technique to implement hybrid continuous- and discrete-variable quantum information processing. Based on squeezed vacuum state, we experimentally prepare optical cat states, squeezed cat states and cat states carrying orbital angular momentum, respectively. Furthermore, we realize remote preparation of non-Gaussian state and cat state based on entanglement. Recently, we experimentally prepare hybrid entanglement carrying orbital angular momentum, which involves three degrees of freedom including polarization, cat state and orbital angular momentum. The preparation of these states provides essential quantum resources for optical hybrid quantum information processing.
